Isn’t the sunflower just magnificent! It gives such joy. Hope radiates out from its bright yellow floral petals. And the center seems to contain patterns of infinity.
I know we are told to consider the lilies of the field. And I do. They are my flower of Provision. They neither toil nor spin. I have done both. But when the lily is in bloom, I am reminded that I really don’t have to. The Infinite Wisdom has my back.
Fall flowers contain the Promise for me. After the seasons of rain, dust, growth and reward, autumn brings a kind of quietening with it. A willingness to listen to wisdom.
The tall, sturdy, proud and announcing sunflower knows you cannot resist gazing upon it.
Standing straight and stalwart toward the blue or cloud filled sky, it is the flower of high expectations. It is the flower of release and tells us to “reach for our dreams” and follow our own path to destiny.
The intricate and patterned center advises us of our own delicate and planned design. This is a flower of magnificent revelation. This is a flower that invites the splendor of stillness in our own heart.
Do you hear it? “Be still and know that I am God.”
